Dr. Janice Gilbert was born in Houston Texas and is the mother of 1 son, Ron Jedkins.  She has been in ministry for over 17 years.  Dr. Gilbert's educational background is diverse and encompasses degrees of many magnitudes:
•	Bachelor of Science - Communicative Disorders  from Texas Southern University - Minor in Speech with Special Education endorsement
•	Masters in Education from Prairie View A & M with Mid Management Certification
•	Post Grad School Hours in Psychology
•	Masters of Divinity from SMU School of Theology
•	Doctorate in Christian Counseling from Cornerstone School of Theology.

While working in the schools for many years, Dr. Gilbert answered to the call of ministry.  She served as associate Pastor for Trinity UMC and St. James UMC.  Also, she served as a Senior Pastor of Disciples UMC in Houston.

Dr. Gilbert was appointed as Senior Pastor McKinney United Methodist Church 7 years ago.  McKinney is now a thriving congregation of the Texas Annual Conference and has received the Copeland award for 2 consecutive years for Evangelism and Growth for a midsized church.

Currently, she serves on the Board of Ordained Ministers, District Board of Ordained Ministries and Chair of Clergy Mentors of the Texas Annual Conference. 

With all of these accomplishments, Dr. Gilbert remains humble and prefers to be noted as the "Child of the Most High, a Teaching Preaching, Servant of God!"
